Avoca Island

 Avoca Island  -  Depth: 15.1metres Shallow site close to the mainland. A good reef dive with a series of canyons and overhangs. The reef runs along the sand and this small drop off makes an  ideal location for small invertebrate life. Lots of nudibranchs in this area with confirmed  sightings of the Miaimira Magnifica around November. Keep an eye out for Wobblegons around the area.
 



 
 

        
 

First Point

First Point - Depth 18 metres  A steep rocky terrain which drops of to sand. Has good sponge life and small sea whips. Good swim - throughs around here with prolific fish life . Cuttlefish are often sighted here and in July they actively displaying courtship.

 
 

        
 

Two Poles

Two Poles - Average Depth: 12 to 20 metres Lots of gutters with interesting bottom life. This dive site is a bit of a surprise with weedy sea dragons frequenting this area around October each year. Cuttlefish can be seen and its a good area to search for small invertebrate life such as Zoanthids. Curios leather jackets and small glass eyes swim around undisturbed by divers and of course the Blue groper is always in sight.



 
 

        
 

Pinnacle

 Pinnacle. - Depth: 26 metres Steep rugged rocky terrain with excellent small invertebrate life. Look up occasionally and you may see schooling Kingfish swimming obvious to the divers. Lots of nudibranchs here and the Blue Dragon nudibranch (Serpent Pteraeolidia ) seems to favour this terrain.



 
 

        
 

Valiant

Valiant - Depth: 26 metres  This tug lies offshore from Palm Beach in the mouth of the Hawkesbury River . It was sunk in 1981. It lies offshore on her port side and has the usual growth and fish life .  Visibility is best on a high tide as it is affected by tidal flows from the river. An easy dive with the engine room being easily accessed.
